The Role

I am recruiting for an experienced and qualified SEN Teacher to teach a class of six children with special educational needs, some of whom are non-verbal. Experience using the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) would be beneficial but is not essential. As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver fun, stimulating lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs and abilities. You will work closely with support staff to develop pupils’ communication, independence and engagement in learning. The ideal SEN Teacher will hold QTS or QTLS and have experience teaching children with SEN, either within a specialist school or a mainstream setting. This role will suit a patient, nurturing teacher who can create a positive and supportive classroom environment.

The School

This SEN school in Enfield provides education for children aged 4–16, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The team ensures every child feels valued and receives a high standard of education and support through fun, stimulating lessons tailored to their individual needs. The school has a large sensory room to support pupils’ sensory needs and emotional regulation. It is located a five-minute walk from the nearest station and has a car park available for staff.
