Seeking a skilled SEN HLTA to plan and deliver targeted lessons and learning activities for pupils with MLD, SLD and non-verbal learners aged 7–19. You will support pupils’ access to the curriculum by preparing differentiated resources, delivering structured teaching sessions, and adapting approaches to meet individual needs. The role includes working 1:1 and with small groups, supporting communication (including alternative and augmentative communication), managing behaviour positively, and tracking pupil progress. The ideal candidate will have experience in SEN settings, strong knowledge of differentiated planning, and a patient, creative approach to supporting complex learning and communication needs.
This school is a non-maintained special school in Hillingdon supporting pupils aged 7–19 with moderate to severe and complex learning needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and sensory processing needs. The school provides both day and residential provision within a nurturing, structured environment that focuses on individual progress, independence and wellbeing. In its most recent Ofsted inspection (July 2022), the school was judged ‘Good’ overall with their aim to reach ‘Outstanding’ in their next report.
