SEMH Teaching Assistant – Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs required

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Experience working in a SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision desirable

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Must be confident supporting behaviour, emotional regulation and learning

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Required full time ASAP

The Role

Seeking a patient and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11–16 within a specialist SEMH setting. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils manage their emotions, improve behaviour and access learning. The role involves implementing behaviour strategies, promoting positive relationships, supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging pupils to develop the confidence and resilience needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and provides a highly supportive learning environment with small class sizes, therapeutic input and personalised learning programmes. The school was judged ‘Good’ at its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2023.
